Healthy skin has a biological slightly acidic surface called the acid mantle. the delicate skin of a new-born is lacking this protective acid mantle, which is established during the first few months of life.

Sebamed’s baby range has been dermatologically developed to assist in the maturing of the baby’s acid mantle to build up the skin’s protective function. A healthy skin’s pH level is 5.5, and babies are born with a neutral pH 7.0 from birth. Sebamed products have been specially formulated to support the baby’s natural development of the skin’s protective layer. Additionally natural ingredients such as chamomile, allantoin and panthenol have been added which help to soothe and moisturise the skin.
